Terms of Service

RefStub is a product of Long Tail Software LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By using RefStub you agree to these terms. They’re short — please read them.

Your account

• You need an account to use RefStub; it’s identified by your email address, and you sign in with a one-time code or link sent to that address. Keep access to that mailbox — it’s how we verify it’s you.
• One account per person; you’re responsible for activity under your sign-in.
• You can delete your account yourself in Settings at any time; that permanently removes your account and everything saved to it.

Using RefStub

• You may use RefStub for its intended purpose, personal or commercial.
• Don’t abuse it: no attempting to break into other accounts, circumvent the subscription, overload the service, or use it for anything illegal.
• We may change, suspend, or discontinue RefStub (or any part of it) at any time. If we ever discontinue it, we’ll give reasonable notice so you can export your data, and if you have paid for time you don’t get, we’ll deal with you fairly.

Your content and data

Your ledger is yours. We store it on our servers so you can reach it from any device, but we claim no ownership of it and use it only to run the service for you — see the Privacy Policy. You can export everything as CSV any time, including on the free plan. Deleting your account removes your data from our systems permanently; export first if you want a copy.

Pro subscription

Pro is an annual subscription ($29.00/year) sold through our payment platform, which handles checkout, receipts, renewals, and refunds. It renews yearly until you cancel; cancellation is self-serve in the billing portal and takes effect at the end of the paid period — you keep Pro access until then. If a renewal payment fails, Pro features pause after a short grace period; your data is unaffected and the free features keep working. Refunds are covered by our refund policy — 14 days, no questions asked.

No warranty

RefStub is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Totals and reports are computed from what you logged — verify anything important before relying on it. RefStub does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Long Tail Software LLC’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of RefStub is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim (or $10 if you paid nothing). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.

Changes

If these terms change, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. Continuing to use RefStub after a change means you accept the new terms.
